Philosophy asks whether science reveals the real world or only provides effective predictive tools. Kuhn's theory of paradigms also shows that scientific development is not always linear accumulation. In modern society, scientific authority is often misunderstood and politicized, while science itself is intertwined with capital, state, and technology. The power of science lies not in never being wrong, but in having institutionalized methods of correction.
