Judgment in the Age of AI · Article 36
A transaction is not merely the cheapest option. Dates, cancellation terms, baggage, renewals, merchant reliability and personal preferences all change the real cost. AI can shorten the search, but it should not conceal the moment at which a commitment is made.
Divide the transaction into three gates
- Search: AI compares public options using only the personal data needed for the task.
- Proposal: It shows total cost, key restrictions, provider, dates and uncertainties in a consistent format.
- Commitment: A person explicitly confirms before payment, identity-document submission or acceptance of non-refundable terms.
What the confirmation page must reveal
| Item | Do not show only |
|---|---|
| Price | Base fare; include taxes, fees and renewals |
| Time | Departure date; include time zone, deadlines and change conditions |
| Choice | The recommendation; show at least one reasonable alternative and the reason for ranking |
| Data | “Information required”; show who receives it and how long it is retained |
Give the agent per-transaction and periodic budgets, restrict eligible merchants and disable automatic renewal by default. Preserve an order snapshot and action log so mistakes can be cancelled, challenged or traced.
