当地居民和运输行业为了生活作息更方便，长期沿用这个折中时间，虽然不被澳大利亚官方承认，但在 Eucla 及周边小镇已成为普遍习惯。
苹果的 iOS 系统时区数据库（使用的是 IANA Time Zone Database）里，确实包含了 Eucla 及少数几个澳大利亚“非官方时区”作为本地习惯时间。
苹果在设计时区功能时，不只考虑法律上的官方时区，还会参考当地长期实际使用的时间习惯，以便用户的设备时间与当地钟表、商店营业时间一致。

When designing the time zone feature, Apple considers not only the legally recognized official time zones but also the timekeeping practices that have been in long-term local use, so that the device’s time matches local clocks and business hours.
