Judgment in the Age of AI · Article 11
AI can explain financial concepts, compare public information and organise questions, but it does not know your complete financial circumstances and will not bear a loss. More seriously, scam sites, fake news, deepfake celebrity videos and supposed “AI trading bots” borrow the authority of artificial intelligence to sell fraudulent products.
Stop: notice abnormal pressure
- Guaranteed returns or claims of almost no risk
- Demands for immediate action, secrecy or movement to a private chat group
- Celebrity videos, news-like pages or profit screenshots replacing formal disclosure
- Heavy use of “AI”, “quantum” or “automated trading” without clear product and licence details
Check: verify the investment and promoter separately
- Identify the actual product and who will hold the money.
- Check the business, licence and warning lists on the regulator’s website.
- Read fees, liquidity, loss scenarios and exit conditions.
- Use a professional source with no interest in the sale.
Protect: do not let pressure make the decision
A polished AI-generated analysis does not replace your risk tolerance, time horizon or need for cash. Any step involving a transfer, identity document or bank connection should pause until confirmed through an independent channel.
AI may help you understand an investment; committing your own money remains a human decision with human consequences.
