LG and NVIDIA Advance Their Humanoid Robot Partnership

On 14 August, LG announced an expanded humanoid robotics partnership with NVIDIA. The companies plan to unveil a bipedal robot in the first quarter of 2027 using the Isaac GR00T model, Jetson Thor onboard computing and a robotics safety system. LG will also begin by validating wheeled robots in a factory.

The significance is not one robot alone, but the attempt to connect models, computing, safety, sensors, batteries and factory data into one development chain. AI competition is moving beyond chat models towards machines that perceive and act in real environments. For now, however, this remains a development plan, without public evidence of performance or commercial viability.
