“My life has a limit, while knowledge has no limit” comes from the Zhuangzi, “Nourishing the Lord of Life”. The next line warns that using what is limited to pursue what is limitless leads to exhaustion. The passage is therefore not a simple celebration of endless learning.
Its point still matters. Knowledge keeps expanding, but human time does not. The harder question is not how to know everything, but how to judge what is worth continuing to pursue and what can be left alone.
